Sarah Bernstein is a violinist, composer, improviser and vocalist. Her original compositions range from jazz forms to chamber music to solo electronic mixed-media. Her background stretches from a BFA in classical violin performance and an MA in jazz studies to intensive experience in the field of new music, jazz, and rock. She is also influenced by her work in the musics of North and South India, West Africa, the Afro-Caribbean, and Flamenco.  Past and present projects and collaborators include Iron Dog, Dave Scott Group, Adam Rudolf's Go:Organic Orchestra, Rob Reddy's Small Town, Carlos Del Pina, Johnny Almendra y Los Jovenes Del Barrio, Barbez, the Pulse Ensemble, Marina Rosenfeld, the Living Theater, the Merce Cunningham Dance Company, Maria Benjumeda, Mamadou Sidibe, and Sarah Bernstein Unearthish.
